Your Best Location is North Latin America

If the shortest flights are most important, Mexico is your winner. However, even Colombia, Ecuador & Peru are not that far. You can choose from beach, mountains or temperate climates, even in Mexico (pro tip: higher elevations = more temperate weather). Mexico wins for cuisine if that's important to you.

Your Best Location is Southern Latin America

While you are in the same time zones as North America, these countries are much farther away to fly to. Your best bet for beaches is Brazil. An affordable big city is Buenos Aires. Temperate to tropical weather is more common. If you go far south you will get a winter but most places there are smaller.

Your Best Location is South East Asia

The weather is all tropical here and you are far from home on the time zones and flights. The cost of living is affordable and the cuisine is arguably the best mix of styles by far. You can do beach or big city and once you get over the Pacific Ocean, you have many countries that you can reach with a short flight. If you don't care about time zones and want to get away from it all, this is your best bet.

Your Best Location is Central to Eastern Europe

In this region of the world you will find mostly temperate weather with a bit of the seasons. If you don't mind being far from home/home time zones, this can be a great option. Its affordable and you can get by with English in the bigger cities. Plus you have all the countries of Europe a short flight (or train ride) away. This is the opposite of the tropical lifestyle of S.E. Asia.
